YOUNGSTERS took time out of the classroom to learn about locomotives.
Pupils from Lostock Primary School spent time at the former Horwich Loco Works, once the home of one of the country’s leading locomotive factories.
The visit is part of the Horwich Heritage and Bolton Wanderers Playing for Success ‘Locomotiv8ors’ project.
This involves inviting groups of children from every primary school in Horwich and surrounding area to visit both the former Horwich Loco Works and the Horwich Heritage Centre to learn about the history of the town and its international reputation as a centre of steam locomotive production.
Children get to learn how a steam locomotive works, how to drive one and how to make one.
